Every time gmetad updates a metric it calls rrd_update which opens an rrd
file, inserts a single value, and closes. That seems like a lot of overhead
when updating many rrds on a regular disk or a ramdisk. Is this correct, and
are there plans to improve the situation for version 3.0 of ganglia?
Specifically by updating the rrd files every 10 seconds for example, and
inserting a bunch of metric values to the .rrd all at once when it is
opened, and only then closing it.
