I'm in a situation where I have some metrics that could potentially be
computed from existing data. For instance, "disk_used" could be
computed from disk_total and disk_free. It seems to me to be a little
silly to have each of my nodes calculate it and send it along when i
could have the master gmond (I'm looking at deaf nodes-> master)
compute it up for me, since all he's really doing is managing this
sort of thing.
Has anyone done anything like this, or have any comments about the
wisdom of this activity? :) I have donned my asbestos email client
already.
