Since the data is calculated, why bother storing it at all? Just have
rrdtool compute the values when generating the charts.
(untested, but you get the idea)
rrdtool graph diskused.png -v 'Disk used'
DEF:total:disk_total.rrd:disk_total:AVERAGE
DEF:free:disk_free.rrd:disk_free:AVERAGE CDEF:used:total,free,-
LINE2:total#ee0000:Total LINE1:free#0000ee:Free LINE1:used#00ee00:Used
Should plot three lines: a red "total", and the used and free values
in blue and green respectively.
