What distro are you using?
I would recommended building rrdtool/ganglia from sources and use rpm
for the smaller stuff most of the 3rd party libraries can be found on
your Base Image CD in my case I'm using CentOS 5.1 and was able to get
Ganglia up on running in a few minutes.
