Hi Kmet,

here are the answers to your questions:

1)
Sorry, Ganglia v3.0.7 still doesn't support any POWER5 features,
probably the whole v3.0.x series never will. However, the new 3.1.x
series - still in development - will offer via Python the capability to
dynamically and individually add metrics.
I am still trying to get v3.1.x to compile/run on AIX, might still take
a little bit.

2) and 3)
The problem with that setup - gmetad on i386 Linux and gmond on AIX
LPARs - is that the vanilla gmetad implementation contained in ANY
v3.0.x release of Ganglia doesn't understand the additional POWER5
metrics as I had to extend the Ganglia protocol to add those metrics.
My advise would be - if you can - run the gmetad server either in an AIX
or Linux LPAR on the POWER5/6 system and add your i386 Linux nodes to
that gmetad server. This way all metrics will be properly displayed.

I am still in the process of creating v3.0.7 Ganglia RPMs, I will notify
you and this list when they are ready.

PS: It should work without any problems to run the v3.0.5 gmetad on
AIX/Linux on POWER and the v3.0.7 gmonds on i386 Linux. But the v3.0.7
RPMs will be ready soon....

Regards,
Michael
