it will be also possible to dynamically add metrics written in C, and that
will be the easiest way to add the additional POWER5/6 metrics since
they are already coded in C.

and hopefully with your help we could get them merged into libmetrics as well.

the main problem with the pre3.1 ganglia model of course being that gmond
metrics (AKA native metrics) were being treated specially and therefore
architecture specific metrics being difficult to consolidate in a model that
expected to be homogeneous.

it will be nice to consolidate any fixes that might be needed to the build
system so that AIX is working for the soon to be released alpha, if you
have more details on ways we could help please post them to
ganglia-developers.
