I'm not sure I understood your explanation correctly, but it *might* be a misunderstanding of how Ganglia works. *ONLY* gmetad writes to rrd files; therefore, on hosts running gmond, there are no RRD files. All of their RRDs are on the host running gmetad. It's possible that that's what you meant, and that you meant that the gmetad is successfully writing RRDs for the gmond running on the same host as it is, but not writing RRDs for the other nodes. I just want to make sure that's the actual problem you meant to describe? If that's the case, then check: 1. What nodes does gmetad list in its data_source lines, in gmetad.conf ? 2. Can you read Ganglia data from those nodes, on the gmetad host ? gmetad-host$ nc other-node 8649 3. Does the XML you get back from each of those nodes, include information about all the hosts in the cluster that node is in? -- Cos ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Ganglia-general mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ganglia-general
