Hi Michael,

Thanks a lot for your inputs. We are currently installing 3.0.7 in our
clusters to see how it works. We would probably wait for 3.1 version from
Ganglia rather than compiling it ourselves. Please do let us know when the
3.1 rpms are built for AIX.

Re: [Ganglia-general] Ganglia support in AIX

Hi Sai,

I am in the process of building RPM packages of Ganglia 3.1.1 with
POWER5/6 extensions - same as before with v3.0.7.
As I am very busy work-wise until the end of this month I would estimate
to have these RPMs ready beginning of November.

To wet your appetite: :-)
I have Ganglia 3.1.1 running with DSOs (C modules) running without any
errors and it is even built with a shared libganglia and works fine and
the necessary patches were not so much. And yes, I will document how to do
this with the IBM compiler and GCC.
To integrate DSOs into Ganglia has worked flawlessly with the provided
gmond test modules.
Therefore I will integrate the POWER5/6 extensions as a separate gmond
modules (probably called power5extensions or similarly). I am still in the
process of rewriting my extensions into that new structure but I am making
good progress, so stay tuned....

Regards,
Michael

Hi All,

We have been using Ganglia to monitor our cluster on Linux and now we are
planning to use Ganglia to monitor our AIX clusters. I have visited the
Ganglia website and found no rpms for AIX (version 3.1.1). I am just
interested to know if Ganglia is supported in AIX and whether you are
planning to build rpms for AIX?
Please get back to me regarding the same.

Thanks and Regards
