Thanks for you response.

Brad Nicholes very kindly got me on the right track.  The problem was
that the gmond running on the VIO's only had 1 udp send channel
configured back to the gmetad.  I needed to add a 2nd udp send channel
so that the VIO's send data to themselves too.

I have gmond running on two VIO servers running 1.4.1.2-FP-9.2 and
they've been working fine in unicast mode. When you oem_setup_env, are
you still able to see the gmond process running in the process list?

Are you using unicast or multicast? Your VIO server configuration
might have multiple ethernet configurations on different networks
which is affecting multicast communication.
