yes - we are seeing this problem (Solaris 10 x86), and i understand
several other people on the list also have.  since we only have Solaris
servers, this makes Ganglia quite useless for us.

someone (i don't remember who, sorry) suggested setting
"send_metadata_interval = 60" (or any non-zero value) in gmond.conf.
this did not fix the problem for us.
