Correction:
In fact, there are directories under my RRDtool database with the IP address
instead of the hostname.

I guess gmond is sometimes reporting data using the IP instead of the
hostname.
   How could I fix that?

Subject: [Ganglia-general] Nodes reported twice, by IP address and by name,
half of them reported as 'down'

I am using Ganglia 3.1.2 on Solaris SPARC

I have the following problem.
My cluster has 'n' nodes but Ganglia Web reports my cluster as having '2n'
nodes.

Basically each node is reported twice, one using its IP address and another
user its hostname.
Half of them appear as "down". (In other words, either the node with the IP
address or the node with the hostname appears as "down").

I checked the directories where RRDtool stores the data. There are only
directories using the hostname, no directory has the name of an IP address.
Therefore, I think that gmetad is storing the data as expected. I guess the
problem occurs in the PHP layer while generating the pages.

What would cause Ganglia Web to report '2n' nodes ?
