I am running gmetad v3.1.1 on a FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE server and I am
running into issues where gmetad will stop collecting data from my
clients even though the process continues to run.

If I start gmetad with the options:

gmetad --conf=/usr/local/etc/gmetad.conf

It will run in the background and gather statistics from ~10 sources
for a random amount of time just fine, but then it will suddently stop
collecting data.

If I add the -d 10 option to the command, it runs in the foreground,
will continue to gather statistics without any issues. I've tried to
google the answer and check the archive for the mailing list, but have
not found an answer.

Has anyone experienced this problem before and if so, what is the solution?

Thanks.
