Hi all,
We have Ganglia 3.0.2 running on Server A for about a year to monitor 10
gmond clients so we've accumulated lots of historical data. I recently
installed the latest Ganglia 3.1.7 on Server B with rrdtool 1.4.4,
uninstalled 3.0.2 gmond and installed 3.1.7 gmond on the 10 clients.
Everything works as planned with the web frontend displaying all the
expected results. However, I like to be able to bring in
/var/lib/ganglia/rrds data resides on 3.0.2 Server A onto the 3.1.7
Server B. I tried copying the cluster directory under Server A's
/var/lib/ganglia/rrds/xyz onto Server B thinking that the web front end
will recognize the new directory and display the data. I suppose it's
not that simple since the Server B's xyz cluster does not show up on the
webpage. I also tried adding "data_source "xyz" localhost" in
gmetad.conf but it didn't do anything.
Has anyone done this before and can suggest a solution? I'm guessing
there are other config files I need to modify? Or perhaps there is a
migration procedure? Or it's just not compatible between the 3.0.2 and
3.1.7 releases to make this happen?
Thanks in advance.
