I suspect so to. In fact as long as Clifford is gung ho to do the work, I don't think this project needs a lot of volunteers to be blessable. (Okay, we need a better word than that.) Clifford, once you've got as complete a list of potential copyright holders as you can put together you should probably ask the whole gardener community to take a look at the list and see if anybody has any contacts or contacts of contacts or whatever to get to any of those people/companies as that seems perhaps the most valuable contribution the average gardener could make. It's probably better, in fact, to have one person doing most of the actual contacting, even if through an introduction or whatever, just so we make sure the communication is all consistent. The one thing I think I'd like to see, if this is going to be done under the auspices of the CL Gardeners is a copy of the letter you're sending out. I can't really think of anything that we shouldn't be open and upfront about what the letter says, so it might as well go on the project page or maybe on a page of its own linked from the project page. If you have specific concerns, Clifford, maybe you can send me a copy of the letter and tell me what you're worried about. -Peter -- Peter Seibel * [EMAIL PROTECTED] Gigamonkeys Consulting * http://www.gigamonkeys.com/ Practical Common Lisp * http://www.gigamonkeys.com/book/ _______________________________________________ Gardeners mailing list [email protected] http://www.lispniks.com/mailman/listinfo/gardeners
