Any XPath capabilities?

We've tried most of the packages, and c-xml is the one we chose to use.
However, a lack of XPath capabilities led us down the road of wrapping
libxml2 in CFFI. I'm not too far down the road, and would abandon it if
adding XPath support to one of the existing packages is imminent. The
thing with libxml2 is its blazing speed, which is attractive. However,
I'm bogged down with memory faults in the current wrapping effort.
Anyone out there have XPath patches? Should I keep wrapping?
