Configuring evolution fails because the output from
pkg-config --libs gnome-pilot-2.0
is missing a bunch of stuff:

The root cause of this problem appears to be the set pkg-config files
from gtk+-2.7.0, which differ with the set from gtk+-2.6.8.
I didn't encounter this problem last week because I built the garball
using gtk+-2.6.8 and later updated gtk+ to version 2.7.0 *afterwards*.
I don't [yet] understand the specifics. When I have some free cycles
this 4'th July weekend I will investigate.
