Dear Melkamu,

Your reply is useful. There are some questions for clarification. Please comment and confirm or correct the following.

1. You are primarily working on a Microgrid for a village. Is the project about the grid of connections, or about the power generation, or both? More details please. Size of village and energy desired and what is currently available and what is the desired usage of the power? etc. send details. And you have a budget?

2.  You mention the gasifier stoves.  You wrote;
when i design the cooking part with solar energy it is very costy cause for cooking only it needs 3kw panel for each household .
USUALLY, the gasifier stoves (TLUDs mainly) are natural draft (ND) and do not need any power.

But there are (coming soon also) TLUDs with Fan Assistance (FA also means Forced Air). But they need only about 3 watts (not kW), which can be done via the Solar panels and battery backups. The use of electricity for cooking (as in hot plates and appliances) is not recommended.

3. I work with the TLUD stoves (both ND and FA), and the discussion about those stove is via the Stoves Listserv, that you might consider joining if the stoves are the focus of your project.

We look forward to your reply.

Note: until 19 Nov, my replies could be delayed. I am on a road trip from IL to CA in the USA, including the Power Africa 2014 Conference in Golden Colorado on 13 - 14 Nov.
Happy to meet with anyone during that trip and at the conference.

Dear paul
i am a power system engineering postgraduate student i am try to do my thesis on Microgrid design for the model rural village kollela in Ethiopia so i plan to design affordable design for the village cause if it is affordable the university will give me a fund and i will implement it or i also work in the university and they told me that they will give me a fund if it is a good design as they give me before to implement the solar water pump that done on kollela village with my adviser. As the village have high solar radiation and wind speed it is better to use solar and wind as a source of energy to electrify the village but for cooking it is better to use gasifing stove. we done a solar water pump project with my adviser before and he told me to design a Microgrid for that village to help the villager get light and other facility so when i design the cooking part with solar energy it is very costy cause for cooking only it needs 3kw panel for each household . they cant afford it and also we will not get that much fund to support the village. after i done the design and the all thing the university see the paper and give us a fund for it or we will find the fund as we get for the water pump too .so i plan to get good information regarding to gasifing stove.

    Dear Melkamu,

There are various people willing to assist you. It would be very
useful if you could provide more information about yourself and
your project. We do not know your skill levels, access to
equipment, budget, or the size of your rural electrification
project (or even about you supply of biomass).

Also, you said "gasfier stove" which can be quite different from
"gasifier", especially when you started discussing electricity
    generation.

Please reply to the Listserv so that the maximum number of people
can better understand you situation and your needs. Then we can
    assist better.
