Dean Kamen of Segway fame presented his 3 Kwe campfire powered Stirling
Cycle engine project in Anchorage Alaska a few years ago and when I asked him
how much he had spent on it, he said $35 mm. He was very interested in putting
it into the African and other third world countries for local power generation,
but I don't think he ever got it into the market.?

USUALLY, the gasifier stoves (TLUDs mainly) are natural draft (ND)
and do not need any power.?
But there are (coming soon also) TLUDs with Fan Assistance (FA
also means Forced Air).?? But they need only about 3 watts (not kW),
which can be done via the Solar panels and battery backups.?? The use of
electricity for cooking (as in hot plates and appliances) is not
recommended.
3.? I work with the TLUD stoves? (both ND and FA), and the
discussion about those stove is via the Stoves Listserv, that you might
consider joining if the stoves are the focus of your project.
