Hi David and Bjorn,

I totally agree with what you both you say, but, David, even when proven and wanted, most find that gasifiers and their ancillary equipment are more than they can spend time running them.

Bjorn, you vanished years ago. Not still drying chips in your wifes oven I hope.

Regards,

Doug Williams,

Fluidyne.

Thanks for that, Bjorn. Much appreciated.

I've been working as a renewable energy consultant doing cost and performance modeling over  the last ten years. Most clients don't want an R&D project but rather cost-effective, reliable energy. Low GHG emissions is an attractive feature but rarely in my experience the only driver. PV is very attractive in that regard as it's low maintenance, performance guarantees given site insolation are relatively simple, the generation curve often fits commercial site consumption patterns etc Some clients are prepared to take more of a punt with kit that might need more attention but which will perform within that operational envelope. The Spanner is looking interesting in that context.
