I don´t know about your part of the world- For myself I live in Spain in the countryside, but close to a small town and we have our house and 2 holiday cabins without any locks or keys . I don´t know if ever a burglar entered, but if so, he closed the door after he left. Not many jewels to be stolen , though and the fridge and PC is still there. We have no TV and our clothes are where I left them before we left ( nobody came to wash them!) Lucky Spain (where I live) -we still enjoy a relative safe and quiet life.
