Derek (and list members) Monorators are NOT the answer you are seeking, they (monorators) deal with feedstock inconsistencies, NOT a high water content in ALL the feedstock.
The person that suggested that you use one is not that well informed in their use and/or operation, or does not understand the pre-condensate issue (or at worse, doesn't care about it ! ) The MAIN drawback of a monorator is that the pre-condensate that they produce is highly carcinogenic (causes cancer) and can NOT simply be dumped on the ground or flushed down the drain (heaven forbid). The water must be evaporated off, and the resulting residue should be re-entered into the feedstock stream as to be properly reformed in the gasifier (and a safe handling method must first be devised to do all of this). Nothing in life is free, deal with the moisture content in the correct manner, use exhaust or waste heat to pre-dry the feedstock the safe way. Greg Manning, Canadian Gasifier Ltd.
