Your welcome, Leon!  I try to skim them all, and always have, just to know what's going on with ALL Gator sports to.  I've been blasted privately by a couple of members for posting non-football stuff individually.  Thus, I'm starting to post the non-football stuff in a single email so those that don't care about non-football sports only have to hit delete key once and not multiple times.  I hope this new format will satisfy those that only care about football and feel other sports are a waste of their time.  I'm just trying to keep as many as I can satisfied and happy, and keep all of us Gators as informed as possible.  When you live among the enemies, it's nice to know how UF's other teams are doing for ammunition in arguments.  :-)

Thanks,

What a prize, Shane.  You are the poster of the year for GatorNews.

Not only do you do a fantastic job of reporting Gator football, but you do an outstanding job of reporting all of Gator sports.

Paula and I attend all Gator sports events that we can and have interest in all of them and follow all of them.  Our women are as good as our men, sometimes better.

During the 1960’s, when I was a student at UF, Percy Beard, former athletic director, headed a committee to plan the future of Gator athletics.  That committee came up with a plan that we are now all rejoicing.  That plan called for an athletic program that didn’t emphasize one program over another (think everybody else).  Not men’s sports over women’s.  Not football over volleyball.  All Gator sports emphasized equally.  If UF could be #25 nationally in one sport, we should get there in the others.  And, having followed that visionary plan for several decades of my blessed life as a Gator grad, the Gators have all arrived together: men and women, all sports, contending for national championships simultaneously.

Thanks for sharing it all with us, Shane.

Florida's Sarah Chapman is the Southeastern Conference Freshman Soccer Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

This is the first such honor for Chapman and the third for UF this season, as Tahnai Annis collected the honor on Aug. 25 and Sept. 8.

Chapman's first collegiate goal turned out to be the game-winner, as Florida defeated No. 18 Illinois 2-0 on Sept. 12.
