You are the poster of the year for GatorNews. Not only do you do a fantastic job of reporting Gator football, but you do an outstanding job of reporting all of Gator sports. Paula and I attend all Gator sports events that we can and have interest in all of them and follow all of them. Our women are as good as our men, sometimes better. During the 1960’s, when I was a student at UF, Percy Beard, former athletic director, headed a committee to plan the future of Gator athletics. That committee came up with a plan that we are now all rejoicing. That plan called for an athletic program that didn’t emphasize one program over another (think everybody else). Not men’s sports over women’s. Not football over volleyball. All Gator sports emphasized equally. If UF could be #25 nationally in one sport, we should get there in the others. And, having followed that visionary plan for several decades of my blessed life as a Gator grad, the Gators have all arrived together: men and women, all sports, contending for national championships simultaneously.
