Did they ever address the blown replay call in the 2006 Auburn game? I'm not sure how we found out that the replay official had a kid who was a student at Auburn, but I bet it wasn't the SEC that released that tidbit of information.
I think the conference likes to keep that stuff internal. I think they don't want to deal with blown calls in public. They don't want to embarrass their officials publicly. Of course, the conference should be embarrassed by the blown call. And they should at least acknowledge publicly that it was blown. But I'm not holding my breath. Hell, they'd sooner give the announcers a hard time for telling the truth than punish the officials. Go Gators!!!! Ken B. The official SEC website has no "contact" links. I dicovered the name of the SEC head official - but again - no official link. I might could have found an email address at Western Kentucy(?) - but it would not be cool to contact him at another email address. Like I said yesterday. The refs have a hard job - I can understand them missing this call on the field. That is why there is replay. What I don't understand is - how could they miss this replay? The replay clearing shows Harvin sticking the ball over the goal line and then the ground causing a fumble - after the ball was across the goal line. I think that we do deserve an answer - otherwise the credability of the refs, and the SEC, is in jeopardy. I understand that the refs have some lenancy in holding calls and such - and those usually go against the team blowing out another team. But this was cut and dry. My understanding is that the replay officials see the same replays that we do. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [gatortalk] Re: [gatornews] [SUN]: Notebook: Meyer addresses BCS standings (Aschoff) From: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, November 11, 2008 9:33 am To: [email protected] >> Meyer on Percy Harvin's fumble at the goal line against Vanderbilt: "I saw >> the replay as well and Percy Harvin scored a touchdown," he said.
