It used to be a that a top 10 big man would come into college, dominate, and then leave after a year or - at best two. Kadji was the #6 center (Scout) and Vargas the #12 power forward, yet both look lost. Had Kadji been able to catch a pass in the paint, we would have won at Kentucky, with or without Hodge. That said, the #1 big man according to some (Greg Monroe) has had slow going as well. Perhaps it was simply a down year for big men. Still, we have had back to back highly rated 5 recruit classes. In college, you don't have the luxury of building a good senior-laden team. Ever since the Fab 5, it's been clear that teams can win it all with underclassmen. Still, our most successful teams have not necessarily been the most star-laden but rather the most team-driven. Perhaps our stars look like role players because, as you say, Bill D. is molding them into team players. It worked for Dean Smith with Jordan. -Zeb --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
