The Tennessee rules are easier. No money to start, and we only had to have 1000 tags to start. I've seen tag numbers in the 3 thousands since then, so there are a lot of Gator fans buying them.

A bit of background regarding the tag: During the '90's, the Houston Gator Club began investigating the idea of a specialty tag that wold feature UF. Past UFAA President (and Houston GC past president) Leonard Spearman headed the search committee. At that time, the four Texas clubs (Houston, Dallas, Lone Star (Austin) & San Antonio) couldn't muster the necessary monies needed to begin the project. This past Fall, the Dallas GC (led by Charles Long) got the ball rolling. The four clubs are a lot stronger and we raised $8,000 required by the state to fund the project. The 8K is in an account held by the state that will be eventually returned to the Gator Clubs of Texas. Now, the struggle for us is to buy 1,900 tags! The additonal fees for the tags will go toward educational funding in Texas - something near & dear to my heart & line of work. I mentioned that the 8k will be eventually returned to the Texas Gator Clubs: The money would be donated to the University of Florida Opportunity Scholarship fund as a gift from the Gator Clubs of Texas. Found a tag design! I hope this works, as I've never attached any picture to the GatorNet. The design posted for public comment picutred a Platter Gator with the words "Gator Nation" underneath following the curvature of the head. Too cool! Shoot - I can't attach the picture. It won't work from Outlook to Google. Any help? Anyways - That's it.
