Doe resolves legal issues By Robbie Andreu Staff writer Published: Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 12:52 p.m. Last Modified: Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 12:52 p.m. Florida linebacker Dustin Doe could be returning to the team in the next few days now that his legal issues have been resolved. Doe, a senior from Jasper, pleaded no contest Thursday to two misdemeanor driving charges and was placed on probation for a year and ordered to pay $622 in court fees, said his attorney, Huntley Johnson. Doe also must perform community service, working three days on a work crew for the Alachua County Sheriff's Office. Doe was suspended from the team in July and has not participated in UF's preseason camp. Johnson said he's hopeful Doe will be reinstated sometime in the next few days, possibly as early as Friday. "My guess is he'll be reinstated sooner rather than later," Johnson said. "But I'm not one of the coaches and don't pretend to be." Doe pleaded no contest to one count of driving with a suspended license and one count of driving without a valid driver's license. A second suspended-license charge was dropped.
