Dave and I were discussing that on the way back to Jax. I was able to sleep last night because we decided:
1 - The offense wasn't operating at its peak either because of illness and minor injuries or - Dave's idea - the coaching staff made a decision not to show their entire playbook yesterday. There's a long season ahead of us, and maybe Coach Meyer decided to give Tennessee what he needed to give to beat them and not much more. 2 - The coaching staff will use this experience as their lesson plan and adjust accordingly. I'm sure it has occurred to them, too, that Monte Kiffin worked 'em silly yesterday. Coach Meyer might think Lane is a complete tool (and rightfully so), but, from what I understand, he has the utmost respect for Monte. He will make sure the coaching staff learns the appropriate lessons from the old dude.
