I think in this game that Monte's reputation did as much before the game as
his actual defensive schemes did during the game. Did you read Adazzio's
comments about how much time they wasted practicing against a bunch of
different blitz packages that Kiffin didn't even use? Monte Kiffin is the
real deal, but in the end, it's still the players who have to come out and
execute his schemes. In this game, take out one All-American,
everywhere-on-the-field player and their defense is a very different animal.
Just as we say that players like Harvin and Tebow don't come along very
often, neither do players like Berry. By next year, we'll have lots of game
tape of his defenses at UT and we'll have a better idea what to prepare for.
Lane Kiffin may think 'wait 'till next year', but I like our prospects for
next year just fine, thanks.

Only difference is, Monte is the only legitimate DC in the nation that could
probably actually come up with a way.... it will get more looks... Others
will try it.

Yea - it's a simple formula - make sure the deep threat pulls his hammy the
week before, have the fastets running back and best possession/bail out
receiver have the flu, and hope Tebow has an off day throwing the ball.

Oh yeah - have an Eric Berry on defense (everyone does) and show Addazio
looks he's never seen before.

We're toast - I hope we make it to a bowl game.

Seriously Scott, every time any offense has a less than stellar game
(Meyer's, Spurrier's, Leach's. etc) it's proclaimed that a blueprint for
stopping it has been discovered.

Monte showed the world how to slow down our offense. He created the
blueprint that you can guaran-damn-tee every DC we face will be looking at
VERY closely. Hopefully we were just running on 4 cylinders because of the
flu and minor injuries... UT does not have the talent of LSU defensively
and LSU will use a similar defense against us now.
