I think in this game that Monte's reputation did as much before the game as his actual defensive schemes did during the game. Did you read Adazzio's comments about how much time they wasted practicing against a bunch of different blitz packages that Kiffin didn't even use? Monte Kiffin is the real deal, but in the end, it's still the players who have to come out and execute his schemes. In this game, take out one All-American, everywhere-on-the-field player and their defense is a very different animal. Just as we say that players like Harvin and Tebow don't come along very often, neither do players like Berry. By next year, we'll have lots of game tape of his defenses at UT and we'll have a better idea what to prepare for. Lane Kiffin may think 'wait 'till next year', but I like our prospects for next year just fine, thanks.
