What a wonderful statistical luxury we have. I think I'm going to compare the average butts-on-the-bench time comparison between this year's team, last year's team and the 1942 Notre Dame team.

It seems like there must be a standard of deviation analysis that can be done; if a team averages 5 yards per play (for example), its mean ppg game will be X, + or -1 standard of deviation yields a range, and then seeing whether the actual ppg over the course of a season form a bell curve. It struck me that sacks might be a bit of a wild card, pushing points per game to a lower output than one would expect based upon the offensive efficiency alone. Severe (15 yard variety) penalties are potential drive killers as well. That then led me to wonder if the inconsistency in point scoring may be the result of our losses on the OL and the increase in sacks allowed, and not really the Harvin/Murphy factor. -Zeb On Nov 9, 2009, at 2:05 PM, Badrish Davanagere wrote: and Jim Tart too...but not sure if he got signed by an NFL too. > > >On Mon, Nov 9, 2009 at 1:49 PM, Steve McKibben <[email protected]> wrote: > >Phil Trautwein and Jason Watkins, our starting offensive tackles. >> >>St. Louis Rams and New York Sentinels (UFL) respectively. >> >> >>--- On Mon, 11/9/09, John Vega <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> >>>Who graduated from our offensive line from last year to this year, >>>and where are they now? >>> >>>-Zeb >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> >> >> > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
