If we want to win all games - we need to be able to do both.
If we start playing conservative, and we throw a pick, have a fumble, and they run a kickoff or punt back for a TD - we better be able to open it up. Or if our defense has a bad day - we better be able to open it up.
Previous coaches have opened it up - gotten a large win margin - and then gone conservative. I am much more comfortable with that approach then the approach of playing it conservative the whole game and then try to open it up only when down.

The Gators racked up 37 points Saturday and generated a few of those previously nonexistent big plays.Florida's offense had one rushing score of 18 yards and passing scores of 18, 37 and 39 yards against the Seminoles. The Gators had four runs of 27 yards or more, including a 62-yard run by JeffDemps in the fourth quarter."We had a few of them today," coach Urban Meyer said of producing big plays. "That was the best we've had. That was a little bit like last year in some of those games we had, especially when you see that caliber of athlete (FSU has). "You very rarely run away from them."Florida had 545 yards of total offense.Senior quarterback Tim Tebow said the offensive resurgence has been slowly brewing for the Gators for a few weeks. Tebow tossed a 68-yard touchdown pass to receiver Riley Cooper against South Carolina two games ago and if it wasn't for some timing issues, the duo would have had a few more deeper plays.Last week against Florida International, the Gators totaled 584 yards and 62 points, with nine plays of more than 20 yards.Tebow said he and his offensive teammates have become "extremely comfortable" with each other. Players know their roles and are sticking to them. When that happens, it makes preparing for your next opponent that much easier, andTebow said that newly created bond helped the offense exploit what it saw on film from FSU."We felt coming into the this game we'd have opportunities for big plays, based on the way FSU plays defense," Tebow said.Senior receiver David Nelson said the thing he's noticed from the offense the last few weeks has been the way players react with the ball in their hands. That was something that made players like PercyHarvin and Louis Murphy so productive in Florida's offense and that wasn't happening earlier in the year.The play that Nelson recalls first when asked about the offense finding a groove is the 37-yard catch and run for a score by junior tight end Aaron Hernandez in the second quarter of Saturday's game.Hernandez caught a moderately deep pass coming over the middle, but after a fury of moves, the 6-foot-2, 250-pounder waltzed into the end zone almost untouched."That's how this offense has to be," Nelson said. "You have to get players the ball in space and let them do what they can with the ball."Nelson said most of the season was tough on the offense because of injuries, depth issues and comfort. Nelson said those things are fixed and at the right time.Florida's next opponent? Alabama's No. 3 nationally-ranked defense.Nelson said it won't be easy for the Gators to mirror their last two offensive performances, but with the mental adjustment made, it will make things easier."I saw a lot of plays (Saturday) that didn't look like much today, like little 10, 11-yard runs that at the beginning of the season would have been 1-yard runs," he said. "It was a great transition for us."Something was always going wrong (earlier this season). Now, we're all healthy, we're buying into the system and we're really molding together at the right time.
