It occurs to me that there is actually some sort of cosmic balance in Bowden's overall tenure at the SOW. Whether this year or next, he leaves the school in the same condition as he found it so many years ago. Yes, he built their program, but he also tore it down. A retirement in 2000 would have done much more to secure his legacy than the decade of mediocrity he has achieved in his selfish 'most wins' competition with Jo Pa.
