He is one of our best players and your are correct if Hill starts then it is usually Wright that sits, although Black sat out for the opener. I think Steve's Gator Country source makes a lot of sense when it comes to interceptions. I think Oliver and Zeb need to be watching the replays a little bit closer. J

Hill has made our safety position a true three man rotation, but from what I've observed, it's usually Major Wright that doesn't start if Hill does. --- On Mon, 11/30/09, Oliver Barry <oli...@bobparks.com> wrote: I'm thinking Ahmad Black was beat out of his position by Will Hill or someone else. So, now he's second string. Isn't that the case? His reasoning was that we'd likely be playing a lot more man to man in the secondary, using our improved pass rush and the skill set of our starting DBs to allow us to play tighter coverage, and to press the receivers closer to the line of scrimmage. When you play zone the defenders are looking at the QB more, so there are more chances to read his eyes and make breaks on the ball, leading to more opportunities for INTs. Considering how disproportionate the percentage of our INTs were made by our linebackers this year, as opposed to our defensive backs, it looks like his prediction was spot on. --- On Mon, 11/30/09, John Vega <zebu...@gate.net> wrote: I see that he is third on our team in total tackles, but almost nonexistent in the categories of interceptions and passes broken up. I wonder if we are using him differently, or if teams are purposely not throwing against him. Either way, it seems like an interesting story that is, as of yet, untold. -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us
