The OC and DC positions at Florida are, in my opinion, great jobs that, as
we've seen, can lead to an HC position.

While I understand the logic and benefits of promoting from within, I wonder if
Meyer would consider hiring a Coordinator from outside the program.

I don't believe he considered it when Mullen left. I wonder if he feels there
is someone on the defensive staff ready to step up and become DC.

Obviously, he'd have to make sure the outsider fits in well with the existing
staff, and has a similar coaching philosophy to Meyer. And he'd likely have to
smooth over the relationships with those who were not promoted, but hiring from
outside is something he might want to consider.

Perhaps Dan Carney (our DL coach?) is ready to take over the DC
responsibilities. But in light of our offensive struggles this year, I wonder
if promoting someone from within is an automatic.

Go Gators!!!!

I heard that too, but I am on the other side of this fence. I hope it is
not true, I think Gonzalez is one of our best coaches.

I thought he should have been named OC over Addazio and if he leaves I bet
it is because Strong offers him the OC at Louisville.

Which coaches do you see leaving with Strong?

There are rumors about Gonzalez leaving with Strong. As poorly as our
receivers have played - I say good riddance.

We went

We saw

We got our butts kicked.

We woke up the next morning and we were still Florida Gators!

We can blame the OC and play calling

We can blame the DC and play calling

We can blame the receivers and dropped passes

We can blame the defenders and poor tackling

We can blame Dunlap for hurting our pass rush

We can blame Cunningham and Howard for critical penalties

We can blame Demps for dropping a pass

We can blame James for being tackled in open space by the punter of all
players

We can blame Tim Tebow for an interception or bad pass here or there

We can blame Meyer because somehow in the "biggest game" his team laid an
egg

Sooner or later we were bound to loose and whenever it did happen many of
the same things would have been blamed although the names might have been
different.

OR

We can accept that on this night we just weren't the best team and there is
no disgrace in losing to a better team.

I am not totally convinced that had all the above gone our way the Gators
would have won. Alabama has had this game circled on their calendar for
about a year now.

Revenge can be a powerful motivator.

Time heals all wounds

I think with all that will be going on in the next four weeks, it will be a
tribute to the coaching staff and the players if we show up at the Sugar
Bowl ready to play. I want to pay tribute.

I want to pay tribute to one of the greatest eras in Gator football history.

A 12 - 1 season with a chance to be 13 - 1 is a pretty good season by
anybody standards

Who knows what next year will be like but here are a few of my predictions;

Addazio will still be the OC

The offense will be totally different, scoring more points as compared to
this year

Addazio will be more accepted by the Gator Nation

Strong will not be the DC

The defense will be very similar, but give up more points as compared to
this year

Whoever is the DC will be criticized by the Gator Nation

In general Gator Nation will be more tolerant or the team in general because
expectation will be lower

Expectation by Gator Nation will still include a trip to the SECCG
