Is this the class of seniors that Meyer "loves" because of their "professionalism?"
Maybe he should have given them a little less leeway, at least the week before the SEC CG. As I wrote last week, I wish the F$U game had been the Friday after Thanksgiving instead of the Saturday. The extra day to come down from the emotion of Senior Day might have helped the team focus the following week. And regarding all the emotion attached to Senior Day, I recognize it is important to mark the achievements of this group, and to give them a proper send-off, but I think perhaps too much may have been made of the day. All of Meyer's comments about how much he loves these guys. Yes, say you love them, but also remind them that this team, the 2009 Gators, haven't won anything yet. As things came down, this will go down with the 2001 Gators as one of the greatest in history not to win anything -- not a conference championship, not a national championship.
