If you aren't the #1 sales team in America, are you a loser?

What if we end up in the top 5 for the next 10 years. Maybe a couple of the
finishes are in 1st, I still would like that streak.

I don't look at any season in any sport as an all or none proposition. We
competed against the schedule in front of us and lost one game. I think this
is a good season. Do I want the rings, absolutely, but are we failures because
we didn't get them? No.

I understand your logic, but IMHO, at the end of the year, there are only
three things that define the previous season - SEC East Champions, SEC
Championship and National Championship. We missed two of the three, so it just
means that we did great, but we'll have to try again next year. I don't think a
recruit is going to look at the final rankings and say "oh, UF is #3. I guess
I'll go somewhere else since they didn't finish at #2."

My favorite scenario would be for Ingram to rush for -50 yards, fumbles
several times and never scores. Colt McCoy gets intercepted five or six times,
and in the THIRD overtime (when no one is left watching), Mt. Cody sacks McCoy
in the end zone for a safety. Bama wins 2-0.

Uhmm, that two can be as bad as one, its the loneliest number since the
number one.

I don't get this sentiment at all, wouldn't you rather be #2 than #3? Look
at all the play SOW got for their streak of top 5 finishes. We won't win it
all every year, so we should strive for the best ranking we can get. We knew
on December 5th that we wouldn't be #1, so should we have declined a bowl
invitation? No!

I will enjoy this game tonight because I don't have a dog in the hunt. If
bammer wins, great, the SEC is still dominant, we will be ranked #2 and next
year the winner of the SECC is already penciled in for the BCSC game. If Texas
wins, great, bammers won't be able to claim their 44,323rd national
championship and slimy Nick won't match Urban for number of BCSC, Gators will
end up 3rd, which still isn't all bad.

My best case scenario is that McCoy is intercepted 3 times, Ingram fumbles
twice, Alabama is sacked for a safety but wins in the end 3-2.

  And being #2 means what?

I'm torn with who I want to win. If Bammy wins it should help us to end up
in the #2 spot over Boise State. So, I'll root for them. I just won't like
them.

You have brought up an interesting subject, Johnny.

As everyone knows, I am gator first and SEC second. Publicly, I'm saying that
I am pulling for Bama to bring the 4th NC home to the SEC tonight, BUT every
Bama fan I talk to has been very obnoxious about it.

Even after the whipping they put on us, they can't seem to let it go. They're
telling me we were overrated, "pretenders", etc, and had no business even
THINKING we could go to Pasadena. Now, I'm "kinda" hoping Texas will spank 'em.

You think the elephants are going to win tonight?
