Alabama loses eight or nine starters from their defense - you know - the strength of their team.
That probably won't keep a lot of people from pegging them as the preseason #1, but the last time we had to break in that many starters on D we lost 4 games - and had the Heisman winning QB (McElroy won't be a candidate). Also, the last six teams that play conference games against Bama next year (which will be all of them after we play them) will do so with a bye week beforehand. Beating them would be huge - and we may just have the firepower to do so - the key will be making a defensive stop against them - something we failed to do with any regularity (rarely at all actually) during the SECCG.
