Can I ask a question? Ok.. I understand that the starters get more playing
time than the rest... but is their playing time considerably more than their
backups? I also understand that they are more frequently going up against
other starters on the opposing team more often... but Im not sure its that
drastic of a drop (in some positions) in the starters we are replacing that
we lost last year... with who were their back ups last year.

I guess my point in asking is... if in most positions there isnt that much
of a drop off in talent/ and somewhat in experience... are we really
"reloading".. I know the freshman that are coming in and possibly looking at
being starters is a different story... obviously their talent is speaking
for itself that the experience will come.. but the other guys... I cant
imagine there is that much of a difference between the 1st and 2nd
stringers. We are always hearing about competition at alot of positions
year after year.
