Many of these teams started playing each for over 75 years!

The Big 12 is a relatively new conference. It was formed with teams from the Big 8 and the Southwest Conference, back when almost the entire Southwest Conference was on probation and some even facing the Death Penalty (e.g., Southern Methodist), if I recall correctly.
