I got an idea.  Wouldn’t it even be less of a distraction if they played the
game without fans and reporters?

Why don’t they just go play the games in isolation– and let us know who won?
Or only televise the games on PPV (no fans attend the game) – then they have
the
best of both worlds – no pesky fans and reporters and they make tons of $$$ ?!?!

They’re going to let one bad apple (reporter) spoil the whole batch?

Football has always had jerk fans, jerk reporters, jerk mommies and daddies of
players.    How has the game lasted so long?  Teams and coaches have always had
ways with dealing with them in the past.

Maybe the world is too politically correct today?  When Urban Meyer told that
Orlando reporter off – I was okay with that.  The Orlando reporters – as we
have
pointed out on this forum – are a bunch of jerks – and often say things – just
to make Gator fans mad and angry – as they probably did to Urban Meyer.

Bottom line is - the more distance the teams put between themselves and the
fans
– the fewer true fans they will have.

Keith, I feel for you right now!  And, I hate it that fans can’t get into
practices and watch their team.
But, as I recall, it was a reporter from this paper who caused a huge team
distraction last year.  Eliminating everyone from practice gets rid of unwanted
reporters.
So, that’s the reality of college football at U of F.

Florida’s entire pre-season closed to fans, media
by Jason Lieser
The Gators begin practice Thursday, but fans and media members will have to
wait
until the season-opener against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 4 to get a look at the
team.

Last year, the first two practices were open to the public and press.
Florida said closing off practices is common and is done at Florida State,
Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame and
Oklahoma.
Players and coaches will conduct media interviews twice this week and five days
each of the next two weeks. Coach Urban Meyer’s first press conference will be
Thursday.
