Thank you, Mary, for portraying my thoughts, exactly. I was beginning
to wonder if I watched the wrong game!

In answer to my own earlier query, my mom, who was at the game, said the
Gator fans were in the 2nd tier behind and to the side of the Gator
band. That was the only concentrated area of Gators there. The rest
were sprinkled throughout the stadium. She estimates only 10-12k
tickets were sold/bought to/by Gators.

As for the refs, it has been a long time since we have experienced that
kind of bias. I had forgotten how frustrating it is!

Beat LSU!!!!

The last time we were dealing with this problem, our defense
bailed us out. I was pretty impressed with the way our defense played
overall. The 2nd quarter was a nightmare, but Bama's offense scored
nothing in the second half, and we held their two-headed monster RB to
110 yards. Mistakes will always be made, and ALL our players played
hard for the entire game.

        My gripes are these:

        (1) I just don't understand why our coaches keep trying to fit
players into roles they don't fit. Mike Pouncey should not be playing
center. John Brantley is not an option QB. Demps cannot pound his way
between the tackles.

        (2) Our offense is unimaginative and predictable. When the
opposing DC knows we are going to try a jump pass, we have a big
problem. When Bama's DBs know, "When Brantley has the ball, we know he
isn't running with it", we have a problem. Our Coaches SAY we run an
aggressive offense, but what I SEE ON THE FIELD looks conservative and
predictable.

All that being said, I wasn't as upset with this loss as the
score would usually suggest. I always hate the lop-sided refereeing
that Bama gets -- especially in Tuscaloosa. And, I know I am whining
pointlessly, here, but if one of the touchdowns we scored would have
been correctly called, the game would have been entirely different. If
the continual pass interference by their DBs would have been called when
it would have made a difference in the game (like the 1st or 2nd or 3rd
quarter), the game would have been entirely different. In any other
stadium, the fumble at the goal line would have been correctly blown
dead at the point when Brantley scooped in the ball on the ground (refs
are supposed to protect QBs from the kind of scrum that occurred).
Okay, I'm done now...

        Go Gators!

Not much I can argue about here. I actually think this is where
the loss of Cam Newton, hurt us. He could have been the heir apparent
after Tebow, with Burton in the wings. So far this year looks very much
like 2006, with the coaching staff very unsettled about the style of
offense we want to play, the bigger difference being Brantley lacks
Leak's experience. Hope we figure it out soon.

Randy, isn't the execution on the field a reflection of the
coaching? I think the same guy that coaches the line also is the OC.
Honestly though I've watched Meyer's offenses since his last year at
Utah and I've always thought he depended much more on individual skill
rather than an innovative cohesive offensive attack. Also I think he
may have rolled the dice too quickly on Brantley probably because he was
a legacy. It's obvious to me that he prefers a running mobile QB who can
also throw. He probably should have stuck to that model when grooming
someone to replace Tebow. This business about changing your scheme to
match your personnel is fine when you first take over a program and have
little say as to who is there Five or six years down the line however
you should be recruiting players that fits the style you like to play.
That's JMO.

P.S. Not trying to start the fight of the century here. Honest!

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your point of view,
that isn't gonna happen. Personally, replacing Addazio isn't gonna help
the offense, unless the execution improves.

Truly an inept performance of epic proportions. I thought it was
going to be bad but I never envisioned this bad.

Personally I vote to send the moving van to Addazios house.
