I'm not certain that rules were broken; there are numerous charities and helpful parents that help high schoolers in need, and are neither boosters nor affiliated with any booster. One might as well say that the Tuohys gave Michael Oher gave him an impermissible benefit. And, $2,700 in a week, yet the bozos drinking Cristal in a strip bar repaid less than $100? The only way that that is possible is if the UM player lied and claimed that Shapiro only paid his cover charge. I don't believe that for a minute, I saw the receipts for Shapiro's bar tab and the photos of the players holding bottles of Cristal. If I had to guess, Cristal at a high-end strip club is somewhere between $500 and $1,000 a bottle. So, we reward the stripper-watching players who drink Champagne with a criminal who is directly tied to a specific University, but punish the player whose home town holds him a bake sale?
