I am ambivalent toward Gillislee, but don't you have to ask yourself, two
different coaching staffs with people have been at the top of their
profession and won multiple championships have looked at Gillislee and
determined that he wasn't better than Demps or Rainey ??

Granted, he has shown flashes of being good, but he must be doing something
in practice that indicates he wasn't better than what is ahead of him.

Generally Gillislee has shown what he can do after the game has been decided
so that has to be considered. Given the state of our offense, IMO Demps,
Rainey and Debose are the only players who have shown any ability to score
from anywhere, the idea being keep giving it to them in the hopes they
break one.

I've been a Gillislee fan since day 1. He's the only guy we have that can
pound it up the middle with success.

Dont disagree... ive always wondered why Gillislee didnt play more
(including last year). I think this team has got to learn to get more ppl
involved... thats the only way you can really build quality depth and
experience.

I don't think you can characterize it as a 'problem'. In all games so far
this year, Rainey has fumbled twice (UAB and LSU) and lost none. Demps has
fumbled twice (FAU and UT) and lost one. Gillislee has fumbled once (UK) and
lost that one. If you're not going to play him for that one fumble, then you
need to pull Demps and Rainey too.

What amazes me is the inability of the coaches to adapt their thinking on
game day. That's what Weis is supposed to be so good at. If Demps and Rainey
are tearing them up, then great. Just keep doing it. But against LSU, Demps
was not a factor and Rainey rushed over and over with very little success.
Then they brought in Gillislee and he ran for >3 yards on 7 of 9 carries,
with a long of 15 yards and an avg of 6.2. We were actually moving the ball
while he was playing. So why, when it's working, would you pull him back out
and never give him a carry the rest of the day? Now they act like... wow, we
have to give this kid more carries. Well, yeah, but it didn't take anyone
watching the game three days to figure that out. I'm not saying to pull
Rainey, he averaged 4 yards per carry. I'm saying they should have used
both. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you give Gillislee a
real chance, he'll be a star.

Correct me if I am wrong... but wasnt the reason he wasnt getting more
playing time because he had a fumbling problem? I do recall he had atleast
one fumble this year... cant remember which game.
