And taking those 3 stars just because you have ships negates our opportunity to take 4s and 5s (who also make a difference, Floyd, Easley) next year as early enrollees. Remember, EEs don't count for the current year's 25 max. So keeping a few available will allow us to take a bumper crop next year, when the recruits may be bigger, faster, better.

You know, when people look back on signing classes four years out, there are always a pile of 3-star kids who didn't get as much recruiting attention, but who turn out to be stars. (LSU's Mathieu was a 3-star recruit, for example.) The thing about these kids is that they're mostly getting offers from middling schools and many would jump at a chance to come to Florida. If I had 8 more slots available, I would have been trying to fill my class with some of those guys whom my coaches and their HS coaches thought had that potential, like that lightweight OL recruit we did sign. We need bodies for the OL. I'd leave a few spots open, but not eight.
