I was surprised by the abruptness of Coach Mac’s statement. I looked at the GC discussion on what might have happened and this is a summary of what I found: 1. He may not have been such a great coach. 2. He seems to not have been a good recruiter. One recruit said he de-committed primarily because of Callahan. 3. There was a question raised about him committing a possible NCAA violation, but I sure this was just speculation.
