The one thing going for UF this year is consistency. Only once have we dipped below 197 in scoring, and that was at LSU where travel mishaps took its toll on the gymnasts. Additionally, these scores were achieved with McMurtry not doing floor for most of the year, and Baker being out quite a bit with illness & injury.
Unfortunately, LSU and OU have had lots of 198+ meets and they have also not dipped below 197. That being said, UF was destroying everyone in 2010 and looked unbeatable, but lost to Alabama. This sport can be cruel (especially the balance beam), so it just takes having to count one fall to ruin your dreams of a Championship.
