I am coming around on Mullen. I liked his demeanor and enthusiasm in the press conference, (something I don't remember being a strength of his before), I like that he knows what he's getting into and that he really wants to be here, and I like that he has hit the ground running. Mullen wasn't my first choice, but despite my offer to share years of wisdom and deep insights into the search process, SS didn’t ask my opinion before making the hire. However, I'm a natural optimist who really wants to be excited about Gator football, so I choose to see the potential here.
I do agree that coaches make too much and student athletes make too little — it’s also crazy that we will be paying four head coaches next year — but that's a separate question to me than who our new coach is. I am getting behind Mullen and will stay there until he gives me reason to do otherwise. P.S. Scooter Magruder perfectly captured my reactions during this coaching search.
