I am in US, and have donated blood here. Here they even ask for your history if you had paid sex, or sex with someone who had paid sex, or got paid for sex, or if you had sex with someone from some countries in Africa where no. of HIV cases are very high, or unprotected sex.
All these questions are for everyone, no matter what is the sexual orientation. This kind of information is necessary in case you have not been tested after having one of the above encounters.
