I'm having a discussion here with management concerning the "service"
offered by Expertcity, Inc. and their website www.gotomypc.com.

I think this subject has appeared in the user forum before, but some time
ago. Essentially, this product punches a hole through the firewall by
initiating an outbound connection to Expertcity's server, and then allows a
user to connect to the PC on the protected network by exploiting that
outbound connection.

I've shut this off in our network by denying access to the server from the
protected side. But there are those who feel this is a really neat thing!

I would be interested in comments from the gb-users, pro or con, on this
subject. Also, is anyone aware of any other "like" applications or
offerings that defeat firewalls, no matter how "firewall friendly" they are
portrayed?
