Andrew;
If you can ping the pc on the protected network from gb, but not from the pc
to gb take a look at your IP config. Make sure you've got the right netmask
for a class C, should be 255.255.255.0. Also, are there any other systems
on your protected network? If so, can you ping them from this pc or vice
versa? Try putting the pc and/or the gb on different ports on your hub.
Lastly, make sure you have a known good patch cable between your PC and the
hub. Since I've pulled 10baset wire through my house, I've had to put my
own ends on and have managed to get some really "special" results. Never had
a problem with purchased "pre-made" patch cables though.

Let me know how it goes....

OK, let me get this straight. I am in the same place Raymon is, put the
Gnatbox up last night, and then fiddled trying to connect out. My
problem may be a problem with the NIC (separate post on that already
sent), but with just the default rules, I should be able to get out.

My gnatbox can ping and resolve names on the internet. The Gnatbox can
ping my client (192.168.1.100). I have put the IP for the DNS that RR
gave via DHCP to the Gnatbox in the client's setup. I test ping, and
the client cannot get a response from anything.

I ping the gnatbox gateway IP (192.168.1.1), get no response.
I ping the gnatbox external IP, get no response.
I ping the DNS IP, get no response.
I ping www.cisco.com, get no response.
I open a browser, and it can't resolve netscape.com.

Ok, does any of this make sense? Is there something I need to do?
